# Affiliate disclosure

> How TranscribeBench may earn money from referral and affiliate links, how those links are labeled, the rules that keep commissions out of test results and cost comparisons, and the current list of relationships.

## The short version

Some links on TranscribeBench may become referral or affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, the vendor pays TranscribeBench a commission, at no extra cost to you. Every such link is labeled **"(paid link)"** right beside it, and any page with one says so at the top, before the first link.

This list is generated from the same partner registry the site uses to build its links, so it always matches what the pages do.

## Rules

1. **Labels sit beside the link.** Every paid link carries a visible "(paid link)" label next to it and is marked `rel="sponsored"` for search engines. A footer note is not enough, and the site doesn't rely on one.
2. **Commissions don't decide what is tested or what the results say.** Every tool that can be tested within its terms is scored by the same code on the same clips. Results are ordered by measured error rate; cost tables are ordered by price.
3. **No paid placement.** Vendors cannot pay to be included, ranked, described or left out.
4. **Vendors see their results first.** Before a result for a commercial tool is published, the vendor gets its own numbers and seven days to reply. Replies are published next to the results; numbers change only if the vendor shows an error in the method.
5. **No fake reviews or results.** TranscribeBench publishes no testimonials, never uses AI-generated reviews, and publishes no accuracy figure that it has not measured ([methodology](/methodology/)).
6. **Free tools stay free.** The converter and calculators need no account or purchase.

These rules follow the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides and the FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
